Cutting Cement Industry CO2 Emissions through Metakaolin Use in Construction

چکیده

Cement production is one of the most important industries on planet, and humans have relied use dating back to dawn civilization. manufacturing has increased at an exponential rate, reaching 3 billion metric tons in 2015, representing a 6.3% annual growth rate accounting for around 5–8% global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Geopolymer materials, which are inorganic polymers made from wide range aluminosilicate powders, such as metakaolin, fly ash, blast furnace or steel slags, also been elicited due concerns about high energy consumption CO2 emissions connected with cement concrete manufacturing. This study focused mechanical durability properties metakaolin production. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analyses were used confirm characteristics kaolin metakaolin. The results showed that 15 wt.% can be partially replace cement, when synthesized alkaline activators, utilized geopolymer totally For predicting compressive strength different mixtures, few practical models presented. research shed light possibility utilizing ecologically friendly materials building, construction, transportation sectors decrease

Application of a system dynamics approach for assessment and mitigation of CO2 emissions from the cement industry.

A system dynamics model based on the dynamic interactions among a number of system components is developed to estimate CO(2) emissions from the cement industry in India. The CO(2) emissions are projected to reach 396.89 million tonnes by the year 2020 if the existing cement making technological options are followed. Policy options of population growth stabilisation, energy conservation and stru...

Use of Alternative Fuels in Indian Cement Industry

Many years of experience in several industries have shown that the use of wastes as alternative fuels in cement plants is both ecologically and economically justified. However, there are several factors that need assessment before using alternative fuels. Further, availability and cost are important factors too. Along with other alternative fuels, literature and case studies have revealed that ...

An inventory of primary air pollutants and CO2 emissions from cement production in China, 1990-2020

Direct emissions of air pollutants from the cement industry in China were estimated by developing a technology-based methodology using information on the proportion of cement produced from different types of kilns and the emission standards for the Chinese cement industry. Historical emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM) and carb...

Selection of Cutting Inserts in Dry Machining for Reducing Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions

Manufacturing processes are responsible for climate change due to the emissions produced as result of energy consumption. This paper analyzes the influence of the cutting conditions and the characteristics of cutting tools on the energy required in machining processes and the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-eq) emissions generated per material removed ratio (MRR) in an effort to define common cr...
